Mont St. Joseph's Home is a long-term care home which provides care to its residents who come from the City of Prince Albert and area small towns, villages and First Nations.

The mandate of the Mont St. Joseph special care home is to provide care and support for the very aged, the infirm and the physically challenged who can no longer live in their home independently or safely.

Mont St. Joseph takes pride in providing exceptional and creative programs and services to meet the holistic needs of residents. More than a place to stay with medical attention, Mont St. Joseph's has a variety of programs to provide enjoyment to the residents and fulfill the needs of minds and spirits as well as bodies.

To further this end, Mont St. Joseph's also houses a daycare centre called Blooms and Buds. The children and the residents of the home interact with each other regularly through the day, just like a family.

"We have the inter-generational child care centre. They have their own programming based around the residents so there is day to day interaction. They cook together, eat together, do crafts with each other. ... We have one resident that knits doll clothes for them and just spends time in their facility to be around the children," says Jennifer White.

Programming also works towards promoting the resident's independence and well-being in an environment of compassion, dignity and respect.

This home is blessed by the Mont St Joseph Foundation that raises funds that provide what government funding is unable to, such as furnishings and equipment replacement, and staff development.

Currently, the Mont St. Joseph's Foundation is selling tickets for their spring lottery, which are available on their website.
