Police interrupt drug deal

A drug deal in Prince Albert was stopped by city police.

Transaction took place Nov. 3, in the 1200 block of Central Avenue, said police.

Three men were arrested – 22-year-old Drew Ballantyne, 28-year-old Damien Ballantyne, and 29-year-old Curtis Merasty.

Strike notice served to SIAST

Saskatchewan Government Employees Union has served 48-hour strike notice to SIAST, their employer.

Mediated talks between the union and SIAST management broke down, Monday. Management rejected the union's final offer and the union responding by walking away from the bargaining table.

Deal in works to reopen pulp mill

There appears to be renewed interest in the shuttered Prince Albert pulp mill.

paNOW has obtained a copy of the email that has gone out to former mill employees that says there’s a possibility of the Domtar-owned facility being sold to an Asian company called Asia Pulp and Paper.
