The Desnethe-Missinippi-Churchill River riding has a new MP.

NDP candidate Georgina Jolibois defeated incumbent Conservative MP Rob Clarke and Liberal candidate Lawrence Joseph in a close three-way race for the Desnethe-Missinippi-Churchill River riding.

Randy Hoback holds on to P.A. seat despite Liberal sweep nationally

Conservative incumbent MP Randy Hoback has won the federal riding of Prince Albert.

After all 179 polls were counted in the riding, Hoback settled in for his third term as MP, with 19,679 votes in his favour.

Elderly folk exercise their democratic right, right at home

On Election Day in Canada, those over the age of 18 head out, line up and vote. But at Mont St. Joseph’s home, residents don’t have to go far to have their say.

Royal Canadian Legion Convention wraps up in Prince Albert

Members of the Royal Canadian Legion from all over the province spent some time in Prince Albert for their 48th Biennial Provincial Convention this weekend.

The convention kicked off on Saturday afternoon with a march down Central Avenue to the cenotaph located outside of City Hall.

Prince Albert voting stations report steady stream of voters

Several voting stations in the city reported an early morning rush, and then a steady stream of voters between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m.

Midtown Hall and Parkland Hall estimated sixty voters during the rush, enough to cause lines at each ballot box.

Weekend food fight and food drive bring in much needed donations

Volunteers were busy collecting and dropping off food donations for the Food Bank this weekend.

Thanks to community efforts it was another successful year for Prince Albert’s Share-A-Meal-Foodbank’s annual Food Bank Food Fight and We Care Food Drive.
