THE ARTIST VOICE: How To Draw It Out and Let It Land
with Tamara Beatty Vocal Coach, coach on NBC’s “The Voice”

  • 9am-5pm (lunch provided), March 25th
  • The Backstage Stage at Persephone Theatre, Saskatoon SK

This full-day workshop is a rare opportunity to get advice, tips, and live coaching from Los Angeles-based Voice/Performance Coach Tamara Beatty. Entering into her 11th Season as a Voice Coach on NBC’s hit television series “The Voice”, Tamara knows how to get results quickly, help singers elicit their best performance under pressure, and prepare performers for audiences of over 40 million viewers. She is considered an expert and trailblazer in her field; someone who really knows how to bring out not only the best vocal performance, but the most compelling and authentic. In this dynamic workshop, Tamara will share what she feels singers really need to know:

– When to use ‘technique’ – and when not to
– How to extend/optimize your full voice range
– How to mine out your ‘vocal brand’
– The importance of ‘vocal producing’ your songs for live shows and studio recordings (they’re different!)
– Vocal care, strength, and stamina

This is a live coaching event. Selected volunteers will have the opportunity to work with Tamara on stage to further understand the concepts she is sharing, allowing all attendees to leave with a wealth of knowledge, understanding, and inspiration!

This a one-time-only event happening ONLY in Saskatoon. SaskMusic is subsidizing the cost of this event in order to make it accessible to as many singers as possible. Please join us!

The minimum recommended age for singers attending is 12. Minors must be accompanied by a parent/guardian.

About Tamara Beatty
Tamara Beatty is entering her 11th season as a Voice Consultant on the NBC Emmy Award-winning reality show “The Voice,” has over two decades of experience teaching private voice lessons, holds Bachelor’s degrees in both Music and Education from the University of Calgary, and is a sought-after consultant in the education and entertainment business. Her coaching style is precise, intuitive and powerful.

She has created and co-authored materials that educate singers and singing instructors around the world, and has been a guest speaker, adjudicator, and panelist for various conferences and workshops in North America, as well as a consultant for programs such as the Canadian Country Music Association Discovery and Atlantic Discovery Programs, the West Coast Songwriter’s Association Conference, and VocalizeU in Hollywood. She is known for her ability to draw out an artist’s authentic signature sound and guide them to maintain that sound with the stamina and strength they need for shows, recording, and tours. Tamara currently shares her time teaching and consulting between Los Angeles and Calgary.

Her private lessons and workshops have been called “mind-blowing”, “transformational” and even “spiritual” in the way that, in mere minutes, Tamara can bring a performer to life by guiding them through their ‘walls’ or ‘blocks’ into what she calls effective ‘translation’. Once a singer is properly translating, she then draws upon her 20+ years as a technical voice coach to help singers sing “higher, longer, stronger and more authentically.”

As a former competitive athlete, Tamara pulls from her Olympic-level coaching to create technical singing programs that respect a singer’s signature sound while considering fatigue and injury from overuse. Her tailor-made voice programs are sought after by touring and studio singers all over the world.
