Prince Albert Parkland Health Region Volunteer Service Opportunities for the week of August 14th, 2017

The Volunteer Services Department of the Prince Albert Parkland Health Region is in need of caring, compassionate and committed volunteers to fill the following service positions:

Lab Services Center – Prince Albert

Volunteer greeters assist patients and family members arriving for tests at the center in the South Hill Mall. These volunteers put patients at ease and ensure they are in the proper location to be called for their tests.

Shifts:           7:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. Monday – Friday: Once per week.

Friendly Visiting – Surgical & Medical Floors – Victoria Hospital

Duties include visiting from room to room on a one-to-one basis, chatting, listening, playing cards, board games, reading, writing letters, taking patients to hospital functions, making tea/coffee for individual patients, and feeding patients (when needed).

Shifts:   9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. or 1:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. daily, Monday – Sunday:  Flexible: Once or twice per week.

“On Call” Volunteers

Extra volunteers are often needed for the long term care residents on an “on-call” basis, to assist with outings, parties, social gatherings, shopping trips, taking residents to appointments, etc.

Shifts:   As needed

Patient Information (Greeter) – Victoria Hospital

Duties include directing patients and visitors to the various departments for treatments, tests, x-rays, or to other destinations in the hospital.

Shifts:   9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. or 12:00 – 3:00 p.m.  Monday – Friday
