When there is one or more children in a family with developmental delays - there can be significant stress in the home and a feeling of being lost.

It is the goal of the Prince Albert Early Childhood Intervention Program to work with families to assist the child be the very best he or she can be while supporting and guiding the family unit.

We have an open referral progam. Though referrals are often made to us by a physician or agency -  any family who has a concern about one or more delays or potential delays, may call us directly for help.

We usually go to the family home to begin the process. We want the family to be as comfortable as possible. However, if it is better for the family to meet with us elsewhere - we will make those arrangements too.

Once disccussion with the family has taken place - a course of action will be created between us which may involve other agencies.

"The main idea is that the family is guiding the service," says Director, Anne McIntosh.
