Sep 22, 2015 | 8:08 AM

The Canadian Royal Purple is instituting its newest Lodge in Prince Albert, SK on September 22nd.

“I love the idea of our lodge, said Pennie Young, member and organizer. “ We are going to be growing and we are 21st century volunteers.”

Following its decision to end its auxiliary status with the Elks of Canada, the Canadian Royal Purple has reached out to women and men to form new lodges with an eye to a modern style of volunteerism.

“Gone are the days of traditional ritual, “ said Pennie Young. “We are focusing on our projects, short, business meetings, fun and fellowship while we work for our community.”
