Rotary’s Multi-Use Trail Committee To Provide City with $650,000 Plus for Community Trail

Mar 11, 2011 | 1:16 PM

The Multi-Use trail Committee is please to have provide the City of Prince Albert with more than $650,000 in community funding to assist in the costs for construction since 2004.

We have come a long way – more than 16 kilometres – since announcing the first contribution five years ago.  The trail is not yet complete, but we are confident that our partnership with the City of Prince Albert will result in the completion of the trail in the near future.

Every day we see people using the Rotary Trail.  There are people who walk, run, in-line skate, or use there scooters on the trail.  It has truly been a project for everyone in the community.  It could not have happened without the support of Prince Albert City Council, city administration, our various level sponsors and all those people who have sponsored metres of trail.

We have also built a monument that recognizes the various sponsors.  This monument recognizes the spirit of Prince Albert as we are all proud to be Prince Albertans.

The trail, as much as any civic project, shows off the best of our community.  There have been challenges, but we have found a way to work together to resolve them.  We encourage all of our municipal leaders to continue their strong support to make the completed trail a reality.

The Multi-Use Recreational Trail Committee is asking the Prince Albert City Council members to make funding the completion of the trail a priority, so that everyone in the city can walk, jog, bicycle, use scooters, wheel chairs, or in-line skate around the entire city and out to Little Red River Park.

Make the completion of the Rotary Trail a priority for Prince Albert
