Pumpkin Facial Masque

October 17, 2017 - 1:34pm

Pumpkin Facial Masque

I love Fall.  Beautiful colored leaves falling and delicious pumpkin to bake with!  Hold some pumpkin back and make this facial masque with it.

You need about two tablespoons of pure pumpkin. I’m too lazy to carve, scoop and bake so I used canned pure pumpkin. Add a rounded teaspoon of plain greek style yogurt. Don’t use low fat stuff; use full fat yogurt. You need the yogurt because pure pumpkin doesn’t stick to the face well by itself. Don’t worry; the yogurt has amazing skin benefits as well.

Vitamin D Part Two: Solution for Dark Circles?

October 10, 2017 - 3:04pm

I love researching anything to do with skin.  This passion has paid off, even since last week!

Last week, I blogged about Vitamin D being a possible solution for very oily skin. I also mentioned its proven ability to reduce acne for some people.

I was so impressed with this information that was new to me, that I investigated Vitamin D further. Aside from seasonal mood benefits, fewer colds & flus, what else could it help with? What had I been missing?

How exciting! Just since last week, I found theories that Vitamin D can reduce dark circles and under eye bags.

Vitamin D: The Skin Connection

October 5, 2017 - 8:55am

This is the right time of year to start taking Vitamin D – not just for health but for beauty reasons as well.

When it’s hot outside and the days are long, we might not need a vitamin D supplement. Once it gets colder, we cover up more. The days get shorter. We spend less time outside in the sun and there’s less sun to spend our time in.  This is the right time to dust off that bottle of vitamin D and start taking it again.

Preplanning Christmas: For Gifts Giving and Faces

September 27, 2017 - 8:15am

It’s only three months until Christmas now.  How did this happen?

Christmas is far from my mind but in reality, it’s only three months away. You’ll want to look your best for those relatives you rarely see and all of the photos you’ll be taking with them. If you are facing face or skin issues, we should talk now so your plan of action is ready when you need it.

Facial areas of concern: a saggy neck, a jowled jawline, some acne from stress at work or stress at home.

We can fix these things, if we plan ahead and give ourselves some time.

Essential Fats to Reduce Dryness and Slow Aging

September 19, 2017 - 8:10am

Chris and Teena and I were talking about essential fats on CKBI this morning.

Chris thought that I meant bacon cheeseburgers. Let me explain.

Essential fats are also called essential fatty acids. They’re called essential because the body can’t make them. You need to get them from foods. You do need dietary fat. It’s just that most of us could benefit from way less dietary fat and way better quality sources.

Undo Summer Squint Lines

September 6, 2017 - 7:21am

I love a face to look a little lived in. There’s beauty in those little lines and crinkles. However, when our little lines start look like Clint Eastwood’s facial nooks and crannies, it might be time for an intervention.

Fortunately, I can help make those furrows look like cute little lines again. It’s called Exilis. I’ve been helping people feel better about their faces with Exilis for over six years.

I love what it can do for summer squint lines around the eyes.

Anti Aging Tip That Costs You Nothing

September 1, 2017 - 9:56am

Celebrities get asked about their beauty secrets all of the time. We all love a good beauty tip, especially if it’s free.

Sun, smoke, stress, (lack of) sleep are four of the biggest aging factors.

One way to beat aging from the sun; put your visor down when you drive. Do this all year round. Don’t forget just because it’s almost fall. The sun sits lower through the day. Lots of sun still affects your face when you drive, particularly on your left. Your left side is exposed to sun while you drive.
