Back, Chest or Shoulder Acne or Scarring

August 15, 2017 - 10:04am

With such great temperatures, hopefully, you’ve been running around with less clothing on. Yes, summer sun is lots of fun unless it makes you feel self conscious.

Some of us have acne or acne scarring on our backs, chests or shoulders. We might feel self conscious and want to cover up, even during the fabulous summer we’ve been having. I can help you feel more carefree. I can help you throw more caution – and clothing – to the wind.

Paula Abdul’s Age Defying Secrets Are “Straight Up”

June 20, 2017 - 7:29am

Ha. See what I did there? You do, if you’re old enough to know Paula Abdul’s super famous song. 55 years old today, Paula’s age defying secrets surprised me.

I was poking around on Dr Oz’s website and found this lovely article written by the long time American Idol judge. It was “Age Defying Secrets” by the famous singer/ dancer/ choreographer.

Some of the tips were about nutrition and supplements. Nothing earth shattering there.
The stand out parts, for me, were actually some self care tips.

I Love These Beauty Secrets from Celebrities

May 30, 2017 - 10:41am

Sometimes celebrity women do some weird things to their faces and I feel sad.

I think of Daryl Hannah. Once the A List “It” break out star from the movie Splash, with Tom Hanks, she blew our minds with her natural perfection. Now, she looks (how do I say this politely?) altered; and not in a good way. And, yes, I feel sad.

These celebrity women do some simply brilliant things to their faces. I am happy. Here are some very simple bits of wisdom from some real knockouts.

The Easter and Skin Connection

April 11, 2017 - 2:58pm

I love Easter. Of course I do; I’m part Ukrainian!

Part of Easter means I get to eat terrific, traditional Easter breads, just like my Baba used to make.

Let’s talk about some Easter treats and how they impact skin.

Easter eggs... I painted Easter eggs as a kid. I hated it!  Man, was I brutal. No delicate, awe inspiring works of art from these hands. Eggs are good for your skin. Eggs are a great source of protein and skin loves and needs protein. The body needs protein in the diet in order to make collagen.

Pull that Sunscreen Out of the Fridge

March 30, 2017 - 7:49am

Spring has sprung. Shorts and sandal season is just around the corner. If you’ve passed on the sunscreen through the winter months, I can’t say I blame you. I don’t spend time outdoors in the winter. When I do, it’s running from car to house or car to work and not much else.

Being in the middle of Canada, in the middle of winter, in my opinion, means, we can pass on the sunscreen.

Of course, if you’re being active outdoors while you walk the dog or head out on the snowmobiles, that’s different. Slap on the sunscreen.
