Zinc and Vitamin C: For Gorgeous Skin, Colds and Flu

Nov 9, 2016 | 6:47 AM

There’s more to Zinc and Vitamin C than warding off colds and flu.

I’m not the only one who is excited about these unseasonably high temperatures. The bugs that cause Colds are Flu are very excited about the weather as well. That’s okay; we’re going to take Zinc and vitamin C to strengthen our immune systems, to help us fend sickness off.

Our skin is excited about that. Skin loves Zinc and Vitamin C. Both help improve skin function.

Zinc is a must if you have acne. Studies show a 50% visible improvement in acne in three months just by taking Zinc.

Aim for 25 mg a day. Take with food. See if you can find Zinc Picolonate. It’s the most easily absorbed form of Zinc. Check with your Doctor before starting to make sure that Zinc won’t interfere with any medications that are you are taking.

Vitamin C is a must for uneven skin tone and sun damage as well as aging, acne and rosacea. Anywhere from 500 mg to 1000 mg should be good. If you are taking too much, you’ll know. Too much vitamin C gives you loose poops! Dial it back a bit to keep comfortable.

Again, check with you Doctor to make sure that vitamin C won’t interact with any medications that you are taking.

Here’s to a delightfully warm November, a strong immune system, and your best skin.
