Time to Add Some Vitamin D – Carefully

Nov 26, 2015 | 8:06 AM

It’s overcast and cloudy. The days are super short. As I write this, I realize that we are less than one month away from the shortest day of the year. Sigh.

We are all missing the light. It’s not in your mind. Our bodies are craving it. Vitamin D will help. It is proven to help with mood as well as any seasonal aches and pains you may be experiencing.

Vitamin D is also important for immune function. Including it in your daily routine can short circuit colds and flus. It may even reduce the possibility of cold sores.

Now here is your skin connection.  If you are prone to acne, the good news is: there is a lot of anecdotal evidence that indicates Vitamin D can clear up skin.  The bad news is that there is just as much anecdotal evidence that it can make your skin breakout. Sigh.

My point? Try taking Vitamin D to help with mood and immunity at this low light time of year. However, acne prone people need to start off really slow. Take one capsule on one day and skip the second day.  Really ease into it and monitor your skin. If it’s not being affected, great. Try one capsule a day for awhile. Build amounts slowly from there.

If you do have a breakout, remember that our Cold Laser Microderm treatment can calm it down quickly to keep your face Christmas party ready.
