DIY Pumpkin Facial Masque

Sep 28, 2015 | 12:12 PM

On CKBI Radio, Neil and I chatted about DIY (Do It Yourself) skincare for face and body.  We discussed ingredients you probably already have in your kitchen like oats, brown sugar, milk and olive oil.

You know how I like Vitamin A for skin.  Wrinkles or acne or, like me, both – Vitamin A is crucial for skin health and beauty.  I want you to eat it.  I also want you to wear it.  Here’s a fun way to wear some Vitamin A at home.

The next time you make Pumpkin Muffins, steal two level tablespoons of pumpkin from the recipe, for this delightful pumpkin facial masque.

You will also need some yogurt for this masque.   It can be greek or normal style yogurt but it has to be plain yogurt, full fat, with no color or sugar.  Making sure that there is some fat in it will ensure that you’ll get the full skin benefits of real yogurt.

Combine your two tablespoons of pureed pumpkin with two level tablespoons of plain yogurt.  Apply liberally all over face and neck.

Sit down for 20 minutes.  Put your feet up.  Close your eyes and relax.  Think gorgeous skin thoughts.

After 20 minutes, rinse with lukewarm water and gently pat dry.  You will notice that your skin has a healthy glow.  You’ll also notice your face has a slight smile on it, as you think of the powerful, yet simple beauty tool you just mixed up in your own kitchen.

You will have clearer skin that is less oily, Fewer wrinkles, a brighter complexion which is all fantastic.
