Let panow.com Help You

Mar 18, 2011 | 9:25 AM

As of today, panow.com Community Group News is publishing news from 200 Prince Albert and Area non-profit groups from morning until late evening, SEVEN days a week.

These groups truly run the gambit from national organizations with local offices to arts groups to organizations which exist to make the lives of people better.

Some groups have been created from an immediate need.

Jeans for Japan, for example, was set up this week by Jenni Willems of the new ground café in Birch Hills, in response to the horrors she has witnessed on the news and a desire to help.

Muskoday Action for Change is a group which celebrates positive behaviours in their community and creates activities such as the recent celebration of International Women’s Day to do that.
Prince Albert Women of the Earth saw a need they did not have funding to address.

Their Elders, particularly women Elders, are going hungry because of low incomes and family need. They were able to use panow.com Community Group News to bring this need to the attention of the community and hopefully, bring them good results.

Many groups, Prince Albert Ski Club for example, have reported an increase in interest and in their membership. It is not sure that panow.com Community Group News is the reason – but I am sure it didn’t hurt.
Catholic Family Services of Prince Albert have a new program coordinator and therefore a variety of amazing new programs. They have acknowledged that their first round of events filled up very quickly because of the additional exposure they received.

So, I remind readers once again to keep looking through the blogs to find that grassroots information that is so important to the general health of a community.

There are other great things coming up which need the attention of the community.

The Community Charity Riders is a great example.

They are working to raise money for the Children’s Hospital Organization. They have been using the sport of biking to raise money for local charities.

This year, the group is intent on making their biggest impact to date by combining the Prince Albert, Saskatoon and Regina proceeds to go to one worthy cause: The Children's Hospital Foundation of Saskatchewan.

While we don’t have an actual Children’s Hospital in place yet, there are many programs and services provided by this organization that are critical to many families in the province. One of the programs is the Alvin Buckwald Centre in Saskatoon – a place my son and I visited last week which not only provides absolutely critical services for children with special needs – but also works to support families and to make the process as wonderful, healing and helpful as possible.
There are three rides this year. The first is in Prince Albert, June 3rd. The second is in Regina June 10th and the third is in Saskatoon June 17th. Each is approximately 110 km.

“This isn't an endurance test,” says organizer Jerry Jarvis. “This is an opportunity to have a great afternoon of fun while raising money for a great cause. We have everything the participants need: a truck to pick up anyone who is done along the way, water, a masseuse, everything.”

In the Community Group News are a number of amazing news items especially donations.

The Royal Purple in Prince Albert were graced with an extensive visit from their national president. In that visit they visited various areas of the Victoria Union Hospital where they have made significant donations, as well as care homes and organizations in the Community. These donations resulted in thousands of dollars being pumped into community by a service group. For photos and more information go to these links:
