X-Men: Days of Future Past

Forget about Spiderman, the fifth installment of the X-Men series is truly amazing. I have been waiting for over a year for this movie to be released and I was not disappointed.

The plot of this movie is fairly simple. The X-Men are facing extinction at the hands of an enemy that is unbeatable. Their last hope rests on a mission that sends Wolverine back in time to stop the event that acts as a catalyst for the war.

Before you watch Days of Future Past, I’d recommend you watch the “X-men Origins” movie over again. Days of Future Past does a great job tying all the movies together, but draws mostly from the prequel movie.

I definitely give this movie two very big thumbs up. The effects are awesome, the cast is superb, and the action lives up to the hype. If there is one superhero movie you see this summer, make sure it is this one.

4.5/5

Godzilla

The story moves a little too slow for my liking but it is still a very good movie overall. I definitely would have preferred a little less story and a lot more monster battles.

3.5/5

Amazing Spiderman 2

I have gone to see this movie twice, just for the sake of seeing if there was something I missed the first time. I’ll be honest, I didn’t hate it but I wasn’t overly thrilled with it either. Andrew Garfield and Jamie Foxx both do a great job but I just feel like there is something missing.

In this sequel, Peter Parker has new enemies: Green Goblin, Electro, and the Rhyno. While Spiderman is doing his best not to become a lightning rod, Peter Parker is learning more about his parents. The movie is over two hours long but the storyline moves pretty fast so you don’t notice it.

3/5

***Author’s note……it boggles my mind during a Marvel movie why people still get up to leave when the credits begin to roll. As is the case with all other Marvel movies, there are extra scenes.
