Community Group News – The Stories of People in Prince Albert

Feb 18, 2011 | 12:37 PM

Serendipity – it seems – follows me wherever I go. It is with a sense of overwhelming gratitude that I acknowledge this blessing.

I have been meeting with several people from the Community Groups – a real treat in itself.

With each person – and with you, the reader, I feel a strong desire to explain the fullness of the opportunity panow.com is presenting in providing this forum for Community Groups to publish regular information in this incredibly vast and nearly unlimited format.

Imagine the audience we have developed by now. Imagine the number of viewers to these pages and imagine their variety of background and circumstance.

So what do I say? I ask each group to view their blog posts as messages given directly to the very specific people they want to communicate to – but haven’t met yet.

For ISKWEW – it is an abused woman who is scared and unsure – who can get to know ISKWEW first before making that big first step towards getting help. For churches – it is someone looking for answers, who can read through the blog information and find out what that church believes and what programs they have to offer. For Canadian Mental Health – it is someone looking for similar experience and a road to healing.

These blogs are not just frivolous bits of random information. They can be so much more. They can promote an event, celebrate participants, invite involvement.

This news isn’t flashy. It isn’t necessarily timely, but it speaks to the heart of everyday people.

 Now back to serendipity.

You never know where inspiration to write a column will come from. Inevitably – for me – I am inspired by you.

This week I had nothing to write a column about. I was completely and totally  … blank.

Then I had a fantastic “coffee” with a representative of To Save A Life – a time for me to communicate what panow.com can offer her organization, and an opportunity for her to inspire me by telling me all the things they do, the individual lives they touch and the plans that they have.

Then, this evening, I noticed the comment on my last column from the daughter of Annabel Taylor whose photo had accompanied the column. The daughter had just been casually clicking away and found this photo of her mom who has passed away. It meant something very significant to her – and it meant something significant to all of the friends and students who became friends of dear, sweet Annabel.

When you write – you never know whose life you are going to touch. Remembering this fact, is inspiring to me and I hope it is inspiring to all those involved in the community.
