Make Peace With Yourself

Dec 5, 2013 | 2:59 PM

Throughout my life I have made some interesting choices. Some were healthy and some not. When I reflect back, I realized everything was meant to be the way they turned out.

As a teenager, all I wanted to do is party, hang out with my friends and do everything my mom said I shouldn’t.

In my 20’s, I drank too much, partied too much and made choices that would reflect badly on me and my family.

In my 30’s, I started to wise up. I made peace with myself. I started my fitness journey, saw my true potential and started listening to my mom’s wise words.
I started to care about me.

You may ask yourself, what this has to do with fitness.

Well the truth is, if I wouldn’t have found exercise, I would be that same person. I would still be that partying, drinking, know it all, wailing in self-pity.
Through exercise, I found my amazing husband. Because of exercise, I overcame my addictions and with exercise I am a great mother.

If you are a teenager, find exercise. If you’re in your 20’s, 30’s 40’s 50’s 60’s 70’s, find exercise.

Exercise gives us a time to release stress, making it easier to deal with life.

Exercise releases feel-good chemicals that your brain uses to make you happy. When you exercise you use more energy and as a result, you sleep better at night.

Those who exercise often find that they get sick less often because they have a higher immune system.

Exercise sends nutrients and oxygen to the muscles and tissues in your body, helps with blood circulation and makes your heart and lungs work more efficiently.

Exercise is one of the best things if you are trying to lose weight or maintain your weight.

Exercise stimulates all parts of your body and that includes your brain; you will experience better memory and increased concentration.

Exercise helped me find peace. It can also help you.

If you need assistance we can help.

So get off the couch, make peace with your past, start your exercise journey. One year from now you’ll be so happy you did.
