Fast and the Furious 6, Now You See Me

Jun 3, 2013 | 7:20 AM

Fast and the Furious 6 is ‘pedal to the metal’ fun. I've seen every F and F movie, and I can quite confidently say this one was by far my favourite. Critics complained the stunts are cheesy, and too unbelievable. Well that’s what makes this movie so much fun.

All of your favourite characters are back for this movie: Paul Walker, Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Ludacris and The Rock. The crew is recruited by the FBI to catch a real bad dude. In return, they receive a guarantee that their records will be cleared. Luke Evans (Clash of the Titans, The Immortals) is the worst kind of criminal: One with a brain.

Buckle in because this movie travels at 200 kilometres an hour. Once the action starts, it doesn't brake until the final explosion. I will definitely be adding this movie to my Blue Ray collection.

Now You See Me

I can't quite put my finger on it, but there is something missing from Now You See Me. A superb cast, lots of cool tricks, and a few good plot twists, the ingredients should all be there.

Four magicians are recruited to help pull off the most memorable trick of all time. If they succeed, they get to join some sort of magician's fraternity. Without giving it away, their master trick involves millions of dollars, a time-travelling device, and a giant mirror.

A huge kudos goes to the casting director. Jessie Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Morgan Freeman, Mark Ruffalo, and Michael Caine are just a few of the more familiar faces you will recognize, and they all deliver stellar performances.

I have now figured what is missing. It may have been hiding up my sleeve the whole time. Now You See Me is a movie that had a lot of potential, but seems to fade as the movie progresses. The movie becomes predictable and at times a little cheesy. Don't get me wrong, it is still a cool movie, but one that I could have waited to rent instead.
