Cold laser photofacial can reduce redness

Dec 20, 2012 | 7:15 AM

Many people have facial redness or rosacea. Rosacea can be itchy or painful. Often rosacea includes small pustules that may be mistaken for acne. Rosacea skin can be easily upset by poor skin care and can be very sensitive or even painful.

Whether you suffer from rosacea or simply have skin that blushes and flushes easily, cold laser can help.

Cold laser or Low Level Laser is the most gentle laser treatment available. It reduces inflammation and that means skin calms down and becomes less upset and red.

There is no downtime or recovery time with a cold laser photofacial. There is no burning. It is the only laser that actually soothes skin. Since it also stimulates the production of collagen, it has a great anti-aging side benefit.

Facial redness can be frustrating. Some people use scrubs or face cloths or exfoliating products totry and make the redness go away. This can actually make the redness, and any itch or burning associated with it, much worse. Avoid very hot water, gritty cleansers, exfoliating serums, microfiber cloths, and even face cloths. Trust me on this. Do not exfoliate rosacea skin or sensitive skin.

This includes microdermabrasion, both home kits and in office procedures.

Sometimes people have red sensitive skin but still want to correct large pores or some other condition that could benefit from microderm. When in doubt, contact your friendly neighborhood cold laser practitioner. Together we`ll look at your skin and decide what the best plan of action is to help you look better and feel better.
