Another alien movie, male strippers

Jul 30, 2012 | 7:21 AM

Is it just me or have there been a lot of extra terrestrial themed movies this summer? Unlike “Men in Black” tho or “Prometheus”, “The Watch” is far from clever or even that entertaining. There are definitely lots of funny moments but the movie itself is badly written and is just plain lame. The only thing that saves this otherwise stupid movie is the casting. Ben Stiller, Vince Vaughn, Jonah Hill and Richard Ayoade equally provide a plethora of good one liners.

The plot of this movie(if you can call it that) is pretty much as the title suggests. Residents of a small town in Ohio form a Neighbourhood watch when one of their fellow community members is violently murdered. They soon learn that they are dealing with much more than a cold blooded killer. The town has been infiltrated by cold blooded aliens.

If you feel the need to waste ten bucks, or if you just crave some cheap laughs, go check out “The Watch.”

After weeks of harrassment, I finally went to see “Magic Mike.” Perhaps I am biased but I found nothing magical nor special about this movie. There were however at least a few women in the theatre who cheered out loud. This movie is purely just eye candy for the ladies, and women everywhere have been shoving it down by the handfuls, and going back for seconds. The acting is terrible, the plot is weak but there was not a single woman in the theatre who was not smiling, or even giggling when the credits began to roll. Don't get me wrong, I can appreciate that there needs to be movies like this, but at least “Showgirls” was somewhat mildly funny. I am also considering suing the dance choreographer for copyright infringement. How dare Channing Tatum steal my moves.
