Project X gets an A

This movie was very entertaining. It makes “Dazed and Confused” look like a Disney movie.

The basic plot of the movie is this: four outcast teens throw a birthday party in the hopes it will get them girls and popularity at their school. The word gets sent out via text, radio, and the internet. By the time the party is in full swing, an estimated 1,500 drunken teenagers have converged on the suburbanite house. Without giving away the ending, let’s just say the poop hits the fan.

The cool thing about this movie is the filming. There are no special effects or enhancements. The movie is shot using a handheld camera (much the same way as the “Paranormal Activity” movies). You really do feel like you are at the party. At times the action gets a big jumpy but I think it just adds to the sensation of how wild and out of control the party is getting.

This movie is definitely more for the teenage crowd, but I think it has a little something too for the older crowd too . Like me you will either think to yourself “man I would kill my kid if they did that” or take you back down memory lane to your time in high school. Trust me on this though, however crazy you think you were in high school, these kids will make you look like an an amateur.
