The Bridge Between the Community And Its Support Programs

Jan 24, 2012 | 11:11 AM

This weekend I was sick with the flu. Really, really sick – the kind of sick where if you move your head your whole body rebels.

So, as I lay helpless in bed feeling pretty sorry for myself (as we all do when we have the flu) I thought how awful it was to be this sick but that I would probably feel better in a few hours.

Then, my thoughts turned to those who are so ill but do not have the comfort of anticipated wellness.

Whether it’s a mental, emotional or physical illness or conditions – so many suffer from some thing that is not going to get better and may, in fact, increase in its severity.

If we are so blessed to suffer only the occasional flu or cold, we all likely have friends and family who have other much more serious issues.

This is one of the blessings of Community Group News.

With more than 300 local non-profit and community groups represented, there is support within the hundreds of blog pages for almost everyone.

I won’t start to list them now, but Community Group News has listings for support groups, societies and awareness programs.

There are news items posted every day on illness prevention programs, support group meetings and activities as well as pertinent information on a variety of conditions that comes from professional sources.

For those of you involved in these groups, remember that you never know who might be reading your information. There could be a person struggling with the very specific issue your group addresses, who needs information, who needs support, who needs your help.

Sending information to add to the Group News of any one of these organizations is as easy as sending me an email. I post every item I receive.

Finding information on a specific group is as easy as clicking on the Community Group News section under the COMMUNITY tab and reading the daily “blog” (i.e. news items) entries OR looking to the right hand side to the numerous clickable groups listed.

Whether you are looking for information – or have information to share, paNOW.com’s Community Group News is here to help you.
