If you are dreaming of some day owning your own home, you perhaps don’t know where to start. There are a lot of things to consider. We recommend that you choose a REALTOR® to walk through the process step by step with you.

STEP 1 – Sit down with your REALTOR® in an informal, relaxed person-to-person discussion about what it is you are looking for in a home.

STEP 2 – Your agent will evaluate your purchasing capacity. We do this before we show you homes so we can eliminate properties that don’t fit your purchasing parameters. We recommend that you contact your lender, and have them prequalify you. This serves two purposes, one being that you are in a better negotiating posture when we find the home you are looking for, and the second is that the lender will lock you in to that rate for a set period of time, so if the rate goes higher, your mortgage will be at the guaranteed rate.

STEP 3 – You and your REALTOR® will select homes together from state of the art computer information. Your REALTOR® can show you any and all homes listed by any company belonging to our MLS® system. Because your agent listens carefully to your wants and needs in advance, finding the perfect home won’t take as long as you might think.

STEP 4 – Once you have found the perfect home, your REALTOR® will negotiate the purchase price, terms and conditions with the seller.

STEP 5 – Your agent will be sure to follow through and ensure that all the necessary inspections are done, all the conditions are removed in a timely manner, and all the correct documentation is sent to lenders and lawyers. Your REALTOR® can answer all your questions and address all your concerns.
