Best Morning Show : Chelsea & Trevor on Power 99 FM

It’s been four years since Chelsea and Trevor became Power 99 FM’s morning show team and we haven’t stopped laughing since.

Chelsea and Trevor’s first conversation happened during a three-way phone call that was set up by the station when they were trying to pair up a new morning team.

“Somehow Garth [Garth Kalin, program director for Power 99 FM] connected us on the phone and we clicked,” said Trevor.

“Then my first day on Monday morning, it was the first time and the last time I was early for work, I was parked in the parking lot and Chelsea came over and said hello new friend and gave me a hug.”

“Oh and it’s just been magic ever since,” said Chelsea with a hint of sarcasm.

“And it has grown. We have developed more of a meshy relationship,” she added.

Power 99 FM is Prince Albert and area’s # 1 all hit music station. Each morning listeners can tune into Chelsea and Trevor doing their thing, which usually involves a few jokes from Trevor and some loud, hysterical laughs from Chelsea.

“We try to have a plan as to where we are going every day and usually, somehow, that gets thrown off track,” said Trevor. “Something happens between the two of us and then all of sudden.”

“It blossoms into something else,” said Chelsea.  “It is a lot of fun. It is not serious and we get to be big dorks all day and have lots of laughs for the most part and we love it.”

“And if you are entertained by what’s on the air it is off the air when the mics are shut off, that is what really make my day.  That’s pretty entertaining,” Trevor added.

Power 99 FM is known as the station that gives its listeners a little bit of everything.  

“We play a bit of hits and then we go into the retro jam at lunch, so we try to be a crowd pleaser,” said Chelsea.

After 6 p.m. is when all the new tunes that are starting to come out starts to play, according to Trevor.

Chelsea and Trevor are very appreciative of their listeners. Trevor thanks his listeners for the cookies and Chelsea thanks everyone for being so supportive.

“We like positivity, so when we get positivity on our Facebook page or on Instagram or during phone calls it just generates more positivity and more positive energy and  that’s not an act or a joke or radio fluff; we both just thrive on that,” said Trevor.
