“Our pet counselors are basically the people who you see everyday in our store and they are committed to the higher standards of pet care,” said Tracy Howlett, franchisee owner of the Prince Albert Petland. 

For visitors that already have a pet, Petlands’ pet counselors are skilled and dedicated to enhancing their knowledge and enjoyment of the human animal bond.

“That is the basis on how we hang our hats,” said Howlett.

“Our pet counselors undergo staff training programs and basically we arm them with as much knowledge as we can so they can help every customer that might come in.”

Petland offers a wide variety of animals in their stores including: puppies, kittens, parrots, budgies, bunnies, hamsters, gerbils, mice, and reptiles including snakes, and lizards. They  also offer fish, scorpions, frogs, spiders and much more.   

“We cater to a huge variety of animals because we carry such a wide variety of them,” said Pam Gayowski, assistant manager at Petland Prince Albert.

“Plus we have the ability to help our customers with any question that they may have throughout the life of their pet, they can always call us with any questions.”

The Prince Albert Petland offers a wide variety of services and staff at the store do their best to share their animal knowledge. Educational tours of the store can be arranged or the staff from Petland can visit local schools or nursing homes with some of the pets. They can also show up at birthday parties.

The Prince Albert Petland also offers in house pet grooming by a certified master groomer. Pet owners can bring their dog or cat in for a basic trim or clip or some funky coloring. They offer everything from nail clipping and breed trims.

Staff at Petland take pride in their work and enjoy coming to work everyday. All the staff at the Prince Albert Petland love animals and the health and wellbeing of every  animal in the store is a priority.

“We assist our customers with all their pet needs,” said Gayowski. “It is absolutely the best job in the world.”

 “It is my dream job,” she added.

There are over a hundred visitors a day to Petland in Prince Albert. Some visit to purchase something for their pet, some are hoping to purchase a new pet and some just want to visit the pets within the store.

Petland in Prince Albert is located in Cornerstone at 800 15th St. E. Their business hours are 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. Mon – Wed and Saturday and then 10 a.m. – 9 p.m. on Thursdays and Fridays. There are also open Sundays from noon – 5 p.m.
