Historic business to close doors on Central Avenue

For eight decades, the Adams family has run a store on Central Avenue in downtown Prince Albert.

“After 81 years, the time has come for us to move on,” said Lana Adams, co-owner of Adam’s Celebration by Design.

The store will officially close its doors at the end of the month.

Mixed local reaction to premier's resignation

There is mixed local reaction to the resignation of Saskatchewan’s premier. Brad Wall announced his retirement Thursday, after a decade in office.

“It’s time for me and my family to do something else,” the premier said.

Car wash construction changes 2nd Ave. landscape

Prince Albert residents may have noticed a significant change to the landscape at the corner of Second Ave. and 26th St. W.

Four homes were removed and the properties rezoned as neighbourhood commercial to make way for a new 14-bay wand wash.

The Prince Albert location of Sears Canada is shutting its doors.

The struggling retailer revealed plans to close 59 locations across the country and cut approximatelhy 2,900 jobs under a court-supervised restructuring.

A Prince Albert man has been identified as one of two people killed while working on the construction of a transmission line in the community of Come by Chance, N.L.

Children's parade used as teachable moment

A parade of students from Westview Community School paraded down Central Avenue with drums and signs Thursday afternoon to send a message about children's rights.

The 'Kids Matter' idea is the brainchild of Grade 4 teacher Paula Thiesen.
