Cuts to library funding done 'with no notice or consultation'

Cuts to provincial funding have left regional library officials caught off guard, without clear plans for the future.

According to Cheryl Bauer-Hyde, chair of the Wapiti Regional Library, funding has been cut by $3.5 million.

Big donation supports youth mental health

UPDATE: P.A. band makes national top 4 list

UPDATE: The Wolfe have now made CBC Searchlight's top four. They will travel this weekend to Toronto where they'll be part of a televised music festival, and find out if they won the grand prize.

The winner will get the opportunity to record a song for Canada's 150th birthday.

Comedy night to benefit northern animals

A charity that assists animals in rural, remote First Nations communities, is hoping to help its cause with a little laughter.

The public is invited to help “Raise the Woof” St. Patrick's day weekend. The Canine Action Project (CAP) is hosting a comedy night fundraiser.

Food Bank feeling the love from local financial group

Prince Albert’s Share-A-Meal Food bank is feeling the love following a month-long food drive.

The city’s Western Financial Group branches held a “Feel the Love” food-raiser campaign throughout the month of February.

National cupcake fundraiser benefits SPCA

A national campaign aimed to help humane societies and shelters across Canada wrapped up Feb 27.

National Cupcake Day is a yearly fundraiser for Canada’s many animal shelters, and this year Prince Albert’s SPCA took part.

P.A. Exhibition Centre goes to the dogs

There may only be one big winner, but they're all 'good dogs.'

The Prince Albert Kennel Club is hosting their annual Dog Show from March 2 to 5. The event will see roughly 350 dogs a day compete for the top honour of Best in Show.
