The Mann Art Gallery is preparing to host one of its biggest fundraisers this week.

Wolf Back a Beer is scheduled to return for its fifth year to raise, what is hoped to be, the final funds needed to bring a massive brass wolf sculpture to the gallery on Jan. 22.

Overload of kitties still waiting to find forever home

The Prince Albert SPCA is still experiencing issues with a kitty overload.

Al Dyer, executive director with the Prince Albert SPCA, said in the past week a few more cats were adopted bringing their numbers down from 74 feline residents to approximately 65.

Malanka celebrations commemorate 125 years of Ukrainian culture in Canada

Prince Albert’s Veselka Club has a lot to celebrate this New Year. 2016 marks 125 years since the first Ukrainian immigrants arrived in Canada.

The heritage club will be ringing in the Ukrainian New Year with an official Malanka celebration at the Prince Albert Travelodge on Jan. 16.

PA fire chief reflects on 2015

It’s been a busy year for the Prince Albert Fire Department (PAFD).

Fire chief Jason Everitt said their overall call volume increased this year by at least 100 calls. He also noted a reported a hike in structure fires, vehicle fires and wildland fires in Prince Albert for 2015.
