SIAST strike not off the table

The future remains uncertain for SIAST students across Saskatchewan.

The union representing instructors has wrapped up two weeks of meetings with its members to discuss the final offer put forward by SIAST management.

It proposes a 5.5 per cent wage increase over three years.

Leask hotel goes up in smoke

A hotel in a small central Saskatchewan community is no more.

Early Wednesday morning, a fire consumed the Leask Hotel.

The local volunteer fire department was called in around 3 a.m.

Garbage pickup is delayed

The cold weather is impacting some city services.

Garbage trucks were a little late getting out this morning.

People who live in the West Flat, Westview, and most of the West Hill are asked to leave their bins out until collection occurs, which may be Tuesday morning.
