Ed Gainey signs 3-year contract extension with the Roughriders

Saskatchewan Roughrider fans can feel free to go out and buy an Ed Gainey jersey as he’ll be in green and white for the foreseeable future.

The fan favourite defensive back has signed a three-year contract extension with the Roughriders that will keep him with the team until 2019.

Another week, another game where the Riders came close but couldn't seal the deal.

Things looked promising for the Roughriders right off the top when they were able to force a two and out on the Blue Bombers offence and follow it up with an impressive offensive showing themselves.

If there are any fans who can rival the Rider Nation in volume, it might just be Bombers fans at the Banjo Bowl.

The back-to-back Saskatchewan versus Winnipeg match up has become legendary to the teams' fans, but also to the players and coaches.

Roughriders’ quarterbacks disappoint in 1st preseason game

There were a lot of flags and not a lot of power at Mosaic Stadium on Saturday night.

In a game where Chris Jones hoped to get a good evaluation of the two players vying to back up Darian Durant at quarterback, neither rookie B.J. Coleman or Brett Smith earned the job.

Darian Durant to sit for Roughriders first pre-season game

Fans may be eager to get their first look at Darian Durant in almost a year, but it’s not coming Saturday.

Durant will dress for the game, but will not see any field time, according to head coach Chris Jones, who instead is opting to test out his backup quarterbacks.
