Officers prepare to police Craven Country Jamboree

Jul 14, 2011 | 6:57 AM

As crews work furiously to get everything ready for the Craven Country Jamboree, RCMP are also preparing for the four-day festival.

Sergeant Craig Cleary with the Lumsden RCMP say they have added six officers to the 30 they usually have working to keep people safe at the festival.

“We will have a command post on each site and if (festival goers) need to located (police), flag us down or come to the command post,” said Cleary.

It's a 10 kilometre drive between the campgrounds and the festival site. 21 buses will carry about 48 people at a time, non-stop between the two sites, keeping drivers off the road.
