Police want help in finding sex offenders

Jul 7, 2011 | 2:49 PM

RCMP and municipal police in Saskatchewan are requesting the public’s help to locate four sex offenders.

William Lance Michaels, 43, Raymond Ratt, 31, Cecil Sheepskin, 46, and Ashley Ballantyne, 38, have not updated police as to where they live, as required by the sex offender registry.

“These guys have been doing this for quite some time and they’re well aware of their obligations, they’re just choosing not to abide by them,” said Cpt. Conrad Logan, with the RCMP.

They have to register yearly or within seven days of moving and right now they are not compliant with that, he said.

There are warrants out for their arrest and if people see them, they are asked to call the police.

“Our number one goal here is to get these guys and make them compliant. We’re not looking for witch hunts with the public or anything like that, we just want them to call their local police forces and let them know where they are,” Logan said.

Ratt, who was ordered onto the registry because he was convicted of sexual assault, has previously lived in the Prince Albert area and police believe he is still living in the La Ronge, North Battleford or Prince Albert areas.

Ballantyne is on the registry after committing two sexual assaults. He was last living on the Sturgeon Lake First Nation and police said they believe he is living in the Prince Albert or Red Earth area.

If anyone has information on these people they are asked to contact local police service or Saskatchewan Crime Stoppers at 1-8000-222-8477, by texting TIP206 to CRIMES (274637) or online at saskcrimestoppers.com
