City and SaskEnergy being sued by Regina couples

Two couples affected by explosions earlier this spring are suing both SaskEnergy and the City of Regina.

John and Helen Neiles' house was completely destroyed after a natural gas leak caused an explosion in their Shannon Road home.

A gas leak was also to blame for a garage explosion at Robert Beug and Brenda Schuster's home.

Attorney Micheal Megaw is representing both couples.

“It's our client’s position that the fire and explosions and resulting damage were a result of what occurred with SaskEnergy and the city,” said Megaw.

Megaw adds that neither of his clients are looking for a specific settlement, saying that any settlement will be up to the judge.
