Strike returns to Prince Albert

Rotating strikes by health sciences workers have returned to Prince Albert.

About 300 health-care workers are walking off the job in Regina, Moose Jaw, North Battleford and Prince Albert today.

In Prince Albert they are returning to walk outside the Prince Albert Parkland Health Region Addictions Services offices on 15th Street East.

The region is contacting patients and clients to cancel appointments scheduled in the outpatient departments affected by the Health Sciences Association of Saskatchewan job action.

The following services could be cancelled and the health region suggests people can contact them to confirm appointments:

Programs that will continue without disruption include all surgeries, physician appointments and most hospital-based outpatient procedures and visits.

This is the seventh week of rotating strikes by the union which is still calling for the government to agree to binding arbitration.
