Keely Taniskishayinew still missing

Jun 7, 2011 | 2:56 PM

The 14-year-old Prince Albert girl who went missing about two weeks ago has still not been found.

Keely Taniskishayinew is a chronic runaway, but Sgt. Kelly McLean with the Prince Albert Police Service said she’s never been gone this long before.

“She’s always come back after disagreements with her family in the past, in this circumstance she hasn’t,” said McLean.

“She’s always come back in the past in a day or two. This is, by far, out of character for Keely.”

Taniskishayinew has been in contact with friends via social networking and McLean said within the last few days she has texted her family. There’s still no indication, however, as to where she is.

“We don’t have reason to believe that Keely, (at) this point, is in any physical danger,” said McLean.
“We think this is a disagreement with family. However, it is out of character for Keely, and because of the fact she is only 14 years old, we do consider her a very vulnerable person.”

McLean said they haven’t received any concrete information as to the whereabouts of Taniskishayinew.

For anyone with information as to where she is, contact the Prince Albert Police Service at 953-4222.
