18-year-old wins 2018 XFM ‘Rock Machine’

Aubrey Lloyd’s hands shook as he gripped the lock on a large wooden chest and slid his key inside. He turned it, it unlocked, and the 18-year-old suddenly become the owner of a 1997 yellow Porsche.

“I came in here not really knowing what to expect and now, apparently, I own a Porsche,” he said Saturday following the win. “ I’m pretty happy about that. I can’t complain.”

Lloyd, from Prince Albert, drew lucky key number 29 and drove off in XFM’s Roxie Rock Machine for 2018. Over one hundred hopefuls eagerly gathered inside Rally AutoMax vying for a chance to pluck the right key from a bag to drive home the new wheels. He said the Porsche is an “upgrade of a different type” from his current Jeep Wrangler.

“I am freaking out a little bit inside. It is going to be a good summer,” he said. “The summer of ’18. Best one yet.”
