Corrections workers ride for kids

Jun 3, 2011 | 1:21 PM

Saskatchewan Correction Charity Bike Riders pulled into the parking lot at Pine Grove Correctional Centre, no worse for wear despite riding the first 45 kilometres of their ride in the rain.

The fundraising group left Shellbrook early this morning and stopped in at the centre on the outskirts of Prince Albert to participate in a barbecue lunch, arranged by the corrections staff.

The group raised $15,655 between the ride and barbecue for the Children’s Hospital Foundation of Saskatchewan.

The riders are now on their bikes for another 70 kilometres before wrapping up in Prince Albert at about 5 p.m.
