Four stabbings punctuate long weekend for P.A. Police
Four people were stabbed in Prince Albert over the Victoria Day long weekend, according to police.
Officers were called to a home on 11th St. E. shortly after midnight May 19, where they found three male victims suffering stab wounds. All three victims were hospitalized, police said, and inside the home officers also found the knife used in the assaults.
Police set up containment in the area and Police Service Dog Daxa and her handler Const. Kelsey Bighetty tracked the alleged perpetrator to a nearby alley. The 19-year-old suspect attempted to hide inside another home, police said, but was found and arrested.
The suspect now faces a charge of assault along with three counts of aggravated assault. He was scheduled to appear this morning in Prince Albert Provincial Court.
