May 3, 2018 | 2:00 PM

A familiar face will be taking over one of the top positions in Prince Albert Downtown Business Improvement District.

Carolyn Carleton was named as the new executive director of the organization this week. She comes with experience and connections to the City of Prince Albert, tourism and the Chamber of Commerce.

“I am a huge advocate for downtown, I know the challenges that will be faced in the coming years,” Carleton said in a statement accompanying the announcement. “I already have connections and plans on how it can work out to benefit the downtown core and its businesses.”

Carleton has worked with the local chamber of commerce for the past six years, where she said she networked with local politicians, business owners, and the general public. The new executive director said she was excited to be a part of the future of downtown Prince Albert and noted the position compliments her skills in communication marketing and event planning.
