The Saskatchewan Roughriders will be without two of their top Canadian receivers for the majority of the 2011 season. Not only is Andy Fantuz now a member of the Chicago Bears but they found out that receiver Rob Bagg has re-injured the ACL in right knee and will start the season on the nine-game injured list.

Bagg was rehabbing the knee in Ontario when the setback occured and is under going surgery today.

“This is obviously very disappointing news for Rob and for the Club,” stated General Manager Brendan Taman in a statement from the team. “Rob is a consummate pro and is a leader in our locker room. While it will be tough for Rob and the entire team to lose him on the field, we look forward to having his positive attitude and influence in the locker room throughout the year.”

Bagg was on his way to a career season with the Roughriders in 2010 with 44 receptions and 688 yards when he suffered the injury October 17th versus the Calgary Stampeders.
