Fire at P.A. restaurant caused “cosmetic” damage

Apr 26, 2018 | 1:05 AM

A piece of equipment from a cleaning truck caught fire and burnt the exterior of Montana’s restaurant on 2nd avenue west on Wednesday evening.

Shortly before midnight, Prince Albert Fire Department and Prince Albert Police Service were called to the restaurant.

No word on a cause just yet or a damage estimate, although owner-operator of the restaurant Devin Panchuk said about $50,000 of damage was likely.

“The truck burned and melted the side of the building, but the building held up and it’s only cosmetic damage,” said Panchuk. “It was just the skin of the building and I’m surprised it didn’t go up in flames to be honest with you.”
