UPDATE: Volunteers join RCMP in search for missing Shellbrook senior

UPDATE: A large, coordinated search effort has begun in the Shellbrook area. Roughly 50 people arrived at the local RCMP detachment this morning to assist with search efforts, and police said a plane was used in an attempt to locate Mumm last night.

Shellbrook RCMP are asking for the public’s assistance in location a missing senior from the community.

James (Jim) Mumm was last seen walking along Second St. W in Shellbrook around 10 a.m. Tuesday. Police say there are concerns for Mumm’s well-being, as he has health issues and may be confused or disoriented. 

Mumm is approximately five feet, three inches tall with short, white hair. He was last seen wearing a red and beige plaid shirt. 

Police say Mumm is believed to be on foot and is still likely in the Shellbrook area.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Mumm is asked to contact Shellbrook RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
