See who won the Mintos’ team awards this year

After being named the Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League finalists, the Prince Albert Mintos reunited on Saturday for their annual awards night.

Assistant captain Austin Lamotte was named as this season’s Most Valuable Player, as he finished second in points in both the regular season (45) and the playoffs (three-way tie with nine). He also added a ton of grit, emphasized by his 114 penalty minutes.

Captain Kyrell Sopotyk had an injury-filled season, but got healthy enough in the playoffs to score 10 goals and 13 points in nine postseason games. The Mintos named him the playoff MVP.
