P.A.’s Bibby wins a beauty, A qualifier finals set at mixed provincials

Prince Albert’s Brad Bibby needed two in the eighth and final end to sneak past La Ronge’s Jonah Sweatman in the CurlSask Mixed Provincials Thursday at the Prince Albert Golf and Curling Club.
Down 5-4 in the eighth end, Bibby and his team of third Sherry Just, second Chad Gareau and lead Patricia Bibby scored two to win the match 6-5. Earlier in the day, Team Bibby lost their opening match to Saskatoon’s Brady Kendel 7-3. Bibby is now two wins away from a qualifying spot in the B Event.
The A Event qualifying finals are all set. Winners of these three games will advance straight to the Championship Event on Saturday. Prince Albert-based Bruce Korte will take on Brady Kendel, and Regina’s Ashley Howard will face Justin Heather of Saskatoon and Jason Ackerman will play Mark Lang in an all-Queen City affair.
