P.A. Police charge two with meth trafficking

Two men are facing drug trafficking charges after police allegedly caught them with methamphetamine and pills.

Police said they pulled over the pair’s vehicle in the parking lot of a Second Ave. W. hotel Tuesday evening after receiving a tip that they were trafficking drugs. The two male occupants of the vehicle were arrested, police said, and a search turned up 14 grams of methamphetamine as well as 22 hydromorphone pills. Because the driver’s license was also found to be suspended, police said the vehicle was towed and impounded.

The two suspects, 36-year-old Cory Pelletier of Saskatoon and 34-year-old Adam McKay of Prince Albert, were both charged with possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking. In addition to the trafficking charges, Pelletier was charged with possession of the proceeds of crime and McKay was charged with breaching a probation order.

Both men made their first court appearances yesterday in Prince Albert Provincial Court. They are presumed innocent at this stage.
