RCMP renew warning for laced drugs after 2 deaths in Maidstone

Mar 16, 2018 | 5:43 PM

Police are warning the public about fentanyl-laced drugs in the province after two men died in Maidstone from suspected overdoses.

The deaths follow two other reports of suspected fentanyl-laced cocaine two days ago in Kamsack. The two individuals involved in that case did not require emergency medical treatment.

In a statement, police said it will take some time for the Chief Coroner to determine if the two Maidstone deaths are, in fact, drug-related and what specific type of drug it was.

The RCMP continue to warn the public about the dangers of illicit drugs from unregulated sources. There is increased concern of the presence of fentanyl in the province which could still remain in circulation.
