Kids’ activity location comes to Gateway Mall

A boost of youth and a new activity is set to arrive at Prince Albert’s Gateway Mall.

What’s dubbed as Saskatchewan’s most exciting family indoor playground will open soon.

CJ’s Climb and Play has expanded from its popular Warman facility.

Manager Lori Bourne said they planned on an official opening next week.

“We haven’t got an exact date yet, but we are starting birthday parties for March 24. People can call or go online to book their party,” she said.

CJs will be located within the old SportChek site, but will only use half of the space.

Bourne said the company offers a fun family experience.

“Kids from zero to, well… we allow even adults onto the playground area,” Bourne said. “We have a wonderful toddler area, and big playground area where we have slides and climbing and things to hang on to and it’s just a fun place for kids to have their physical activity.”

While the facility hopes to capture the young family market, the management at the mall is happy about its new clients and what they offer to the whole P.A. area.

“We were looking for some different things to add to our mix at Gateway Mall,” General Manager Sharon Faul said. “Experiential uses are pretty popular.”

Faul said CJ’s approached them some time ago and they were able to come to an agreement.

“It’s going to create another venue as a reason to shop and visit Gateway,” Faul said. “The City of Prince Albert was looking [for this sort of venue] in their public engagement avenues so we’re very happy to have assisted the city with something the public was looking for.”
