11-year-old arrested for stolen vehicle: P.A. Police

Jan 26, 2018 | 12:16 PM

An 11-year-old is the latest arrest for the Prince Albert Police.

Yesterday, Jan. 25, police arrived at a residence in the 800 block of 16 Street West around 9:30 p.m. for a stolen vehicle complaint.

Police then found the stolen vehicle being operated on 13 Street West. Officers pulled over the vehicle and arrested the lone occupant.

The youth was released to his guardians without charges, due to his age.

This is the second stolen vehicle case from that day. Prince Albert RCMP contacted the P.A. Police Service requesting assistance to stop a truck involved in a previous gas theft complaint. The truck travelled West on Highway 55 East toward the city.

During the attempted traffic stop, the driver of the truck lost control and ran into a parked car in the 200 Block of Riverside Drive. Three suspects departed on foot, but were arrested shortly afterward without further incident. There were no injuries.

A 23-year-old woman from P.A. was charged with possession of a stolen vehicle, failing to remain at the scene of an accident, operating a motor vehicle in a manor dangerous to the public, evading police and breaching a court order.

The 39-year-old man from Prince Albert was charged with resisting arrest.

Both will appear in Prince Albert Provincial Court today.
