Jan 26, 2018 | 10:45 AM

Winter rears its ugly head in central Saskatchewan this afternoon and highway travel is being affected.

Highway Hotline has issued a number of travel advisories for central and northeast Saskatchewan. Travel is not recommended on Highway 11 between MacDowall and Osler, and also in the Quill Lake and Watson areas. Icy conditions are also reported on Highways 3, 2, and 55 with reduced visibility in the Melfort and Kinistino areas.

Environment Canada has issued a snowfall warning for the Prince Albert, Shellbrook, Duck Lake, Melfort and Waskesiu areas.  A wide range of snowfall totals are being reported, but most areas are expecting between 10 and 20 centimetres.
