Retailer prepping to party in P.A.

Jan 23, 2018 | 1:00 PM

Party supply retailer Party City is the latest outlet gearing up for an opening at the growing Prince Albert Crossings shopping centre.

The retailer sees the city as part of its national expansion plans.

“It’s exciting for us and our strategy to grow into smaller, regional markets,” General Manager Shawn Mason told paNOW. “We’re thrilled to be a part of the Prince Albert community and all the celebrations that go on there.”

The store sells discount party supplies for events like birthdays, baby showers and luau, and offers thousands of themed and licensed supplies for various celebrations.

“I think a lot of people don’t know what Party City is,” Mason said. “We want to help the community celebrate.”

The store’s multi-aisle location near the Save On on 15th Street East is still being fitted out and is scheduled for a Feb. 16 opening subject to set up and inventory schedules.

It was not immediately clear how many jobs the retailer will bring to P.A.

“We’re not 100 per cent detailed on that …but we’ll be excited to let you know closer to the opening date,” Mason said.
