Jan 16, 2018 | 4:00 PM

The death of a woman in Sucker River last week is not considered suspicious, according to a spokesperson for the Saskatchewan RCMP.

According to Saskatchewan’s Office of the Chief Coroner, the deceased was 29-year-old Shawna Harriet Finlayson. Finlayson was found deceased Jan. 11 on the Lac La Ronge Indian Band reserve. The death was reported to the La Ronge RCMP detachment, who immediately began an investigation.

This afternoon an RCMP spokesperson said the death was not considered suspicious and noted an autopsy had been conducted. No further information into the circumstances surrounding the death could be provided, the spokesperson said.

Lac La Ronge Indian Band Chief Tammy Cook-Searson extended her sympathies to Finlayson’s family in a social media post.
